Condition of Plate: Overall Very Good. There is very light foxing at the edges. There is an extremely small tear at the upper edge.

Author and Work Detail: This folio architectural engraving is from Jacques Barrozzio de Vignole's work Livre Nouveau ou Regles des Cinq Orders d'Architecture & Recueil des plus Beaux Edifices Anciens et Modernes. One of the lead engravers was the noted Jacque-Francois Blondel. The work was published in Paris by Charpentier in 1757.

Vignole's engravings were highly decorative as well as informative. Many of the plates featured 18th century ladies and gentlemand included for decoration and perspective. Some of the engravings also included rococo ornamentation.
